About Me

My name is Lorie and I live in southeast Mississippi. I have a husband, a daughter, a son-in-law, and a three year old grandson who is totally awesome. They are all awesome, but my grandson is especially awesome. Here is a terribly boring and cliche "about me" page statement:  I'm an amateur home cook who loves cooking, eating, creating recipes, and taking pictures of food. That's it. I know that sounds like every other food blogger on the Internet but that pretty much sums it up.  I also love entering cooking and recipe contests and have been doing this since about 2005. I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel all over the country to compete on the contest cooking circuit. I’ve even won actual cash and prizes for my recipes, and believe you me, no one is more surprised by this than I am. 

On this blog you will find some of my original recipes ranging from contest winning recipes to recipes I create from my everyday cooking, to other delicious recipes I come across in magazines, websites, cookbooks, etc.  I try to note where the recipe comes from in each blog post.  I am not above using a can of cream of chicken soup, so if that makes you cringe, we may have a problem.
